Introducing: Susan Lee (Author)
At R50 Books, we've discovered the best way to introduce an author to a potential reader is by way of interview. We asked Susan Lee a variety of questions and we would like to present her answers here in her own words.
To begin, Susan Lee in her childhood never envisioned herself becoming an author as an adult. She liked writing papers in school, but at that time only thought of writers as writing fiction. Although she loves reading fiction, her only interest is in writing non-fiction Christian self-help instructional/motivational books.
She admits near addiction to self-help books, articles, and movies and enjoys relating bible stories and lessons to real life.
Today, her ambition is to retire young from corporate America and become a full-time writer.

R50 Question: How was the completion of your first book, God's Law of Attraction, a positive experience?
Susan Lee: It was a positive experience to know that I can complete a written work. Many people work on their first book for years and years and still not ever complete their first draft. I didn't want that to be me. Also, I love seeing the good reviews by so many people I don't even know. It makes me realize that my book really does make sense and that people are helped by its content.
R50 Question: How did the experiences of your first book guide your writing process for the next book?
Susan Lee: My first book, God's law of attraction, took a lot longer to write than I expected it would. I had to be patient with myself and persevere to the end. So while I was finishing up GLOA, I was already planning in the back of my mind my second book: Developing Patience and Perseverance in an Impatient World.
R50 Question: Which writers inspire you to contribute to the world in a written form?
Susan Lee: I was a reader before I was a writer, so I am inspired by so many different authors. With the increase of accessibility to good independent authors, I love that nearly anything you want to learn about is accessible at the press of a button.
R50 Question: What new concept is introduced in your books? Share a few.
Susan Lee: In GLOA there is Ask, Believe, Allow, Act and Receive, which are the steps to receiving god's blessings into your life. All are tools to thinking positively in life and not to assume the worst in every situation.
R50 Question: Give an example of how your own process has worked for you and be sure to describe which book has that process.
Susan Lee: A lot of negative things happen in life, no matter whether you are lucky or unlucky. The 5 steps of the law of attraction have definitely helped me to keep a positive perspective on things that happen rather than a catastrophic one.
R50 Question: Describe any misconceptions about your books.
Susan Lee: Many people have the misconception that God's Law of Attraction is new age or even occult-driven. It is actually very solidly based in scripture, and merely explains that the new agey secret law of attraction is just a law of nature created by God, like physics or gravity. Law of attraction is pro-God, when taken with scripture, not pro-person.
R50 Question: What is the best testimonial/review you've ever received?
Susan Lee: This might seem a bit small and homey to some, but my best feeling was when my mother called me on the phone from her house a thousand miles away and said she just finished my book and reported it was really good. First, I was shocked that she read it! Then, I was shocked that she liked it. Doesn't matter how old you are, you still like it when mom praises you.
R50 Question: For your own reading, do you prefer eBooks or traditional paper/hard back?
Susan Lee: Ebooks all the way! I can store hundreds of eBooks on one device and pull up a book from my phone, Kindle or computer wherever I am at the time. Best of all, I never have to decide what I want to read before I leave home like I used to when hard-copy was the only choice.
R50 Question: What is your favorite motivational phrase?
Susan Lee: "Every Day Brings Fresh Hope."
R50 Question: Why is that phrase so important to you?
Susan Lee: It just reminds me that every day is a new start, and even if the day before didn't go as you liked, you can still start over from right now.
R50 Question: What is your favorite movie and why?
Susan Lee: I like a lot of movies, especially motivational sports movies like Rudy, Hoosiers, all the Rocky Movies, etc. I also love Mr. Hollands Opus, Chick Flicks, and more.
We are proud to feature Susan Lee as one of our charter authors authors. If you are seeking Godly guidance in life, we highly recommend any of Susan Lee's highly revered books on Kindle or in hard-copy form.
